When it comes to fire prevention, all production facilities must exercise extreme caution. At Lübbering the fire safety officers Guido Ortkras and Lothar Sendermann are responsible to ensuring awareness of this issue and also how to prevent fires. Both completed training with the fire service and are thus ideally qualified.

The fire safety officers recently conducted in-house fire training for 18 employees. “We have organised it so that our first aiders are also fire safety assistants”, explained Lothar Sendermann.

The participants attended a theoretical workshop on fire safety, categorisation of fire classes, extinguishers and conduct in the event of a fire. Following this, they practiced using a variety of different extinguishers. A fire simulator was borrowed especially for this in order to turn this training session into a truly “hot” event. The participants were very impressed by the realistic practice conditions and, after completing their training, felt well prepared to cope in an emergency.
